Abstract

The subfamily Ceutorhynchinae of the weevils is represented on the territory of the GDR by 28 genera with 151 species. In addition, seven species are included whose occurrence in our country may be expected. The dates of the distribution were established by evaluating the populations and the most important collections. A total of 141 figures facilitate the determination of the genera and species. The following criteria are discussed for each species: general distribution, occurrence in the districts of the GDR, mode of life, host plants, and economic significance (in cases of agricultural or horticultural pests). 35 species occur on cultivated plants.
